Its usefulness is derived from a diversity of special properties. Uses of Gold

Jewelry

The primary use of gold is in jewelry. Gold has several properties which make it attractive for this purpose, including: very high luster, desirable yellow colour, tarnish resistance, ability to be drawn into wires, hammered into sheets or cast into shapes. A tradition of gold jewelry dates back thousands of years where important objects are expected to be made from gold.

Financial

Gold is highly valued and in limited supply and has been used as a medium of exchange or money for a very long time. Today, gold coins are no longer in wide used for financial transaction. However, gold remains a popular form of investment.

Electronics

The most important industrial use of gold is in electronics as a conductor. Almost all electronic devices use a small amount of gold including mobile phones, televisions, and computers.

Dentistry & Medical

In dentistry, gold alloys are used for fillings, crowns, bridges and orthodontic appliances. Gold is used in dentistry because it is chemically inert, nonallergenic and easy for the dentist to work. In medicine, gold is used as a drug to treat a small number of medical conditions.

Aerospace

In aerospace, gold is used in circuitry as it is a dependable conductor and connector. Furthermore, many parts of every space vehicle are fitted with gold-coated polyester film.
